Interior and Exterior Tavern
Dundas and Ontario

Stoopy’s Tavern on Dundas Street East is the quintessential “dive bar,” and has been used for many Toronto-based film shoots—particularly Cronenberg’s. In A History of Violence , Stoopy’s serves as the Track and Turf in Philadelphia, the bar that Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) goes to when called back to his old life. The interior of the bar is also used in The Fly when Seth challenges a local tough to an arm wrestle.

This Toronto bar was featured as a location in The Fly. Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) sidles up next to Tawny (Joy Boushel) as she watches an arm-wrestling match in The Fly.
